As one of my favorite
beaches in Sumbawa, I went to Jelenga beach a lot and never bored of it. It’s
not like the most beautiful beach I’ve seen but everytime I went there it was
always like my private beach so I could enjoy the amazing view only for myself.
Located in Jelenga Village
Jereweh District West Sumbawa Regency, I had to drove for about 3 or 3,5 hours
from Sumbawa Besar. Last time I went there was actually on January but with all
the laziness, bustle, flood, I kinda forgot to write about this trip. When you
arrive in Jereweh you’ll find an intersection and turn right. After that just
go straight for about 4 km till you found the village and there will be some
hotel or restaurant signs along the way.
We planned to stay a night
at a beach hotel in Jelenga, we didn’t really have much info about hotels there
but after checking some hotels we decided to stay at Myamo Beach Lodge. It is
pretty new and so comfortable with the famous surf wave Scar Reef is only 100
meters away right in front of this Lodge. They have some kind of rooms and we
chose the one on 2nd floor, the Penthouse room. They only have 2
rooms on 2nd floor and the beach view from there was just amazing.
From the bed we could see the beach and the sky, it was even so much prettier
at night that we could watch the stars while laying down. Highly recommended
for honeymoon :D. I feel like going on honeymoon by thinking about that room……-,-.
This Lodge from 2nd
floor kinda reminds me of Santorini, Greece. Well I’ve never been to Santorini
but I’ve seen a lot of its pictures and when I was in Myamo, I felt like I was
in Santorini, with that beach view from the white building. And we were so
lucky at that time cause we were the only costumers. Well good for us but I guess
bad for the resort. But by being the only costumer we could eat at the
restaurant alone, or chilling around the hotel or even the beach area was like
just for us. None of us are surfers but the things I like about Jelenga is that
it’s always so quiet, I never really seen many people around that beach so it
always feels so peaceful and the sunset was pretty amazing too.
I went swimming in the
afternoon till almost sunset time. Not really swimming, I mean just got into
water and did whatever in it. Actually I meant to go snorkeling but we forgot
to bring our snorkel gear -,-. Too bad it was cloudy that day but it was still
pretty. Especially when I watched the sunset from the balcony of our room. That
room on 2nd floor was Rp. 1,200,000/night. Pretty expensive but with
all the amazing view and how peaceful it made us, it’s worth it. They also have
garden view room with no window and if I’m not mistaken it costs Rp.
950,000/night.
I feel like going back
there again, and even if I don’t stay there at Myamo, Jelenga is good for
camping too and many trees to set up my hammock on :D. But i highly recommended this resort for honeymoon or just for fun. The view was incredible and the staff were nice. Everything is white so it felt clean, well it was really clean and can't wait to be back again.
