This month, we have 3 long weekends in a row which
is great but also makes people broke -,-. The 1st long weekend I was
planning on going to Gili but in last minute we changed plan and decided to go
to West Sumbawa instead. I’ve been to West Sumbawa soooo many times, but this
time is totally different. Why different??? Keep reading! \\(^o^)//.
We left Sumbawa at 8 am on Saturday and we went to
the furthest one 1st, Sekongkang District, many nice beaches in
Sekongkang and we stayed at Baha-baha resort that we knew about that morning.
We made a quick stop at Maluk Beach just to enjoy the view a lil bit and had
quick lunch too. We arrived at Baha – Baha Resort at Yoyo Beach - Sekongkang around 12.30 pm. Baha – Baha resort
was just few minutes away from the beach. They have bungalows with hammocks in
it. The price was Rp. 550,000 – 650,000 / night, they have swimming pool too.
After taking a rest we walked to the beach to swim
and there were not so many people around, less than 5. But the waves were big
and yea I guess people came to West Sumbawa beaches for surfing. I found a
perfect spot to set up my hammock but under those trees there was a romantic
couple I actually didn’t care about but my friend said better not to disturb
them -,-. So we just sit there watching the ocean, got into the water a lil bit
but kinda scared too especially me who can’t swim at all so we decided to just
got back to hotel to swim at hotel pool which didn’t make any difference, I still
can’t swim anyway –,-.
Actually after Yoyo Beach, there are some others
nice beaches like the famous Tropical beach and Rantung beach which was just
few kilometers away. We wanted to see all those beaches that day but after long
drive from Sumbawa we just stayed at the hotel instead. Had dinner at hotel
restaurant, their steak was yummy. So we were planning on going to those
beaches the next day but even the next day on Sunday we changed our mind again
and went to other beach instead which was my favorite and it was just like 15
minutes away driving from our hotel, Lawar beach. I’ve been there twice before
and even camping there and I like how green the water was, the white sands and
the hills. And everytime I went there, it was never too many people around,
even that day was just less than 7 people. They even sit pretty far from us,
and it was like we got most of the beach part only for ourselves. And found
trees for my hammock \\(^o^)//
We stayed at Lawar beach for couple hours and we
still didn’t have any idea where to go next or where to stay but when we
dediced to go to Kalela Waterfall in Jereweh and because it’s close to Jelenga
Beach we were thinking on staying there too. Sekongkang to Jereweh took about
40 minutes driving and we’ve been to Kalela waterfall before. But I kinda got
confused cause at the gate entering the village, they changed the name of the
waterfall, it says Semporon Tangkel Waterfall 1,5 km away. It’s pretty easy to
find this waterfall. Pretty close to the main road and pass through a village
and rice field. We can park our vehicles few meters away from the waterfall.
When we arrived, there was a couple swimming at the waterfall pool but they
left few minutes after we arrived which was good :D.
Then some kids from the village came and they
helped setting up my hammock, it was at the perfect spot. So when they were all
swimming, I was just swinging on my hammock since I can’t swim and the pool is
pretty deep. Kalela waterfall or maybe now I should start calling it Semporon
Tangkel waterfall is not so high but it’s so pretty with its green water and small
pool under. They also hang a string on a tree so people can jump to the water
like Tarzan, I never tried. We stayed there for couple hours, the kids left
earlier than us so we had the waterfall for ourselves for awhile, good time for
taking pictures \\(^o^)//
After enjoying the waterfall, we continued trip to
Jelenga beach which was like 5 km away from the waterfall. And that was when
the unforgettable moment happened -,-. When we just entered the small street to
the beach, it was almost sunset time and we drive towards the lights and it was
too bright so we didn’t see the dump truck in front of us and we crashed into
it L. Even till now that scene
keeps repeating in my head. We only have some injuries in our legs and head,
nothing serious. But it causes very serious damage to the car, I couldn’t move
for awhile, my head and chest hurt. But the villagers help us repairing the car
a lil bit so we could go to our hotel.
We decided to stay at Myamo Hotel where we stayed
at before. It’s a beach front resort, just few steps away from the beach and
just like other beaches in West Sumbawa, people go there for surfing. When we
came, the water went down so we couldn’t really swim but we still could enjoy
the sunset. That even tho for awhile I hated the sunset for causing the
accident but it was stupid :D. Sunset is beautiful as always and the car crash
didn’t stop us from enjoying our trip.
But after that it kinda changed our plan, cause on
our last day we were planning on going to Paserang Island but we had to cancel
that. We just wanted to get back to Sumbawa asap but the car stopped working at
the gas station in Taliwang but luckily in the city center so we could ask for
help and found some people who were willing to pull our car till Sumbawa. That
what makes this trip unforgettable, it was fun, it was terrible but we learn to
be more careful next time.
