2 Days Trip to Singapore

Well it was actually less than 2 days but it was a short productive trip. Singapore was always on my ‘where to go’ list, always thought about how advanced the country is and how different it is with where I live. Luckily I finally got a change to spend even just a short trip but had a very good time exploring around Singapore.

Got a pretty good price tickets Rp. 1,600,000 round trip from Bali to Singapore, arrived in Singapore around 4 pm then the adventure began. After check in at the hotel which was like a minute away from Bras Basah MRT station, we started trip by taking train going to Somerset then walking to Orchard Road. Won’t ever see that many people walking in where I live -,-

Going anywhere in Singapore is pretty near but since I never walk that much in my own city, I felt kinda tired -,- lol. Got a good dinner at the food court somewhere in Orchard Road then continued by train going to see Singapore Flyer. Well living in a place with no train, it took time dealing with my confusion in understanding those MRT routes L. Btw we use that Tourist Pass that we paid USG 10/day. Another confusion here too, thought the card valid 24 hours but it was only till the end of transport service that day, so we bought for 2 days.

Was about to get on the giant wheel where we can see the whole Singapore city view. But it was too many people and we had no time to wait…besides,,it was expensive too -,-. So we decided to continue walking to Marina Bay Sands. Didn’t really know what to do in Marina Bay Sands till we ended up at the Casino -,-. Even tho it was not that much but I won,,beginner’s luck I guess. After walking a lot from one place to another we took taxi going back to hotel. It was midnite already.

Marina Bay Sands
The next day we went jogging,,something I’ve never done in my entire life. But there was a marathon event that day so we were surrounded by other hundreds of people walking and running to Garden by the Bay. It was only like 2 km away from our hotel but after walking too much on previous day, walking for another 2 km in the morning was very tiring, especially when I never did such things -,- I always prefer to sleep -,-.

We spent like an hour at Garden by the Bay, I always wanted to go there \\(^o^)//. Got a yummy breakfast near those giant trees, well it was actually really yummy if I wasn’t that tired to chew -,-. After enjoying the garden we walked and entered Marina Bay Sands again, did nothing but taking pictures :D, then continue walking to Merlion which was not far at all from Marina Bay Sands but it was like I would never arrive -,-.Once I arrived, it was soooo many people around Merlion that no matter how much I wanted to go there, I immediately lost my mood especially after walking that much and sweaty a lot, how could I take a good picture L so no good picture with Merlion :(

After taking some pictures we were talking about taking a taxi and we kept and kept talking about that till we arrived at our hotel by walk -,-. Actually there were free bicycle along the way in Singapore, I think it was free that we had to download an app to unlock the bicycle and we can leave it anywhere in public places after using it. Even tho it wasn’t free I’m sure it won’t be that much.  It was a very very good service tho, but I had no confident in riding bicycle around that many people. I got nervous easily that I’m pretty sure I would hit people, wouldn’t take that risk -,-.

The hotel was awesome that we could keep our backpacks there after check out and they have shower room on 4th floor that we could use when we came back later when we picked up our stuff. Wondering if next time I went to Singapore again and not staying at that hotel but I still can use their shower room :D.

Chinatown

Haji Lane
So after checked out we left our stuff at the hotel then we walked to Bugis street which was less than 1 km away then we continue to Haji Lane, Kampoeng Glam/Arab Street but unfortunately it started to rain. I really loved that Haji Lane place, a kind of place I wish we had  in Sumbawa :), unique shops along the way and it was very Instagramable :D. I didn’t get those Instagramable pictures tho since it was raining a lot :(.

We took a rest a lil bit but then just ran to the MRT station to get to Little India. I was so excited about this place, I saw many people’s pictures there and it all looked colorful and wonderful. But I was never really lucky, it was still raining and I just couldn’t find those good spots people taking pictures at. So we went to an Indian restaurant and googling all the names on menu -,- ended up ordering some Naan and some kind of shrimp curry in coconut and it was very delicious <3.

I regret that I didn’t explore Little India more but we still had to go to other place before going to airport. We took train to our last destination, Chinatown. But we just walked around a little just outside the station, restaurants and shops along the way then I bought durian ice cream and took some not even so good pictures L. We just walked outside the station for like 200 meters then came back to the station again to take the train going back to hotel -,-.

So since they provide shower room, we could use it before heading to the airport, It was vey helpful. So then trip ended, we went to airport and the return the tourist pass and I always wanted to explore Changi Airport, but I had no power at all so I forgot about exploring and just took a rest instead. But hey Singapore was amazing….expensive,,but amazing. Had a very fun trip, wish to be back :)
