Been to these waterfalls 4 years ago but i still didn’t write anything
about these cause i had no good pictures of it since i forgot to bring my
camera -,-. But i went there again with friends last weekend for the 2nd
time which was wowwww (it was beautiful) and ewwww (it was raining).
Even tho when we arrived in Lombok at 7 am, it was
already cloudy. Waterfall was not a good option for that day but we have
planned it since couple months ago so even when it started to rain we kept
going. We rent a micro bus from Lombok International Airport, it took about 40
minutes driving to the waterfalls.
Benang
Kelambu and Benang Stokel are located in Aik Berik Village, North Batukliang District,
Central Lombok Regency. Actually there are 5 waterfalls in that area but Benang
Stokel & Benang Kelambu are the most famous ones. They said if we wanted to
see all waterfalls it would take about 2,5 hours. Btw that 2nd time we went there was
kinda different. Before we only had to pay for parking which was like Rp. 5,000
but now we had to pay some kind of entrance fee in their office right after the
parking lot, we paid Rp. 220.000 for 14 people, includes the tour guide. Our
guide was a very young kid but seemed so funny and nice. He said we could just
call him Mr. Mushroom -,-. The waterfall is actually pretty easy to find, it
has a clear track so we didn’t really need a Guide but since they said our entrance
fee included Guide so we just took the offer.
From parking lot to the 1st waterfall which was
Benang Stokel it took only 10 minutes walking. Could be longer if you stop
along the way taking million pictures -,-. Benang Stokel has 2 waterfalls with
natural pool under. It was like 10 meters high, the water was cool and clear. Lukily
not so many other visitors at that time but we didn’t go to swim or anything.
Just chilled a lil bit and took pictures and we moved to the 2nd waterfall,
Benang Stokel which is about 500 m away from Benang Stokel. There are some people
selling food and drinks in some parts along the way but it’s pretty expensive or
you can just bring your own drinks.
Btw if you don’t really wanna walk, you actually can just
take Ojek (Motorbike Taxi) from the entrance. It costs Rp. 30.000 round trip to
Benang Kelambu. But it was not that far and we enjoyed our walk through the
green forest. Well kinda tired to climb those hundred stairs but it was worth
it.
For me, Benang Kelambu is further but prettier. Kelambu
itself means Curtain and it really shapes like curtains. The water falls down
through the ‘wall of plants’. Benang Kelambu has no natural pools under the
waterfall unlike Benang Stokel. But......they made some pools under that makes
the water flows in it so visitors still can swim.
We were still pretty lucky cause still not so many people.
Well i guess people were just not in the mood to go to waterfall on cloudy day
-,-. I kinda disturbed a romantic couple who were starring at each other on the
stairs tho, i asked them to take my pictures :D. And other group of guys who
were swimming and taking pictures, asked them to take my pics too -,-.
But we were not that lucky on our way back to the entrance,
half way it was raining hard and we were all soaked. Some people stopped trying
to find a place for resting but nah rain couldn’t stop me to go back. Well
actually cause i wanted to go pee so bad –,- and i wouldn’t pee in the rain,
doesn’t sound romantic :D :D :D
Too bad that we didn't swim or anything, it was pretty tempting
but we had to go to the Mall after and we didn't really have time to dressed up
and make up after if we went swimming :(. So all we could do was actually
taking pictures....and enjoying the view.......
But in Benang Kelambu area, they are still working on some few
pools so i guess it would look so much better in the future. Happy to see that
local people and the government really take care of the place and waterfall
areas are clean too. It's pretty close from Mataram City so it's actually a
perfect place to spend a holiday at. Can't wait to be back and see the new
pools and swim for sure \\(^o^)//
