Saleh Bay Exploratory

This Saleh Bay Exploratory was one of the amazing trip i have done with Adventurous Sumbawa. Saleh Bay itself is the largest bay in Sumbawa Island which belongs to 3 regencies, Sumbawa, Dompu & Bima where we can find many uninhabited islands in its territory.

So for this trip, we drove our motorbikes for about 1,5 hours to get to Plampang Ditrict. In this district, there is a coastal village, we had to drive for another 20 minutes to get to the village, we parked our motorbikes there and took 2 boats, 20 people on each both. Oh and for this trip each person only had to pay Rp. 35.000 (around US$ 3), it was for both to 4 islands and lunch (a simple lunch that we cooked together on the island). That’ freaking cheap right?.

Gili Kebo
So to our 1st stop, Gili Panjang, it took about 40 minutes boat ride, but on the way we passed Gili Kebo and omg I don’t know why we didn’t stop there, it was such an amazing place. The water was a beautiful crystal clear with stunning white sands. I just took a picture of it but when we arrived in Gili Panjang, it was even more beautiful. We climbed the hill and had a rest for a bit and we introduce ourselves to each other, especially to new members of the group.  The view from the hill was so amazing, I wish I brought my camping stuff and stay there for few days lol, so dang beautiful!!.

We didn’t stay there for a long time tho, we still had some other places to go. So we continue our boat ride to the next island, Meriam Island, and again it was another beautiful island I’ve ever seen. It also has hill, but we didn’t have enough time to climb it, so we just swim a lil bit and take pictures together.

Our 3rd stop was Gili Dempo, and we spent the longest time here cause we decided to cook for lunch there. Gili Dempo is pretty big, it also has hill, only some people climbed  it while me and some other girls cook for lunch, and yea I did really cook, I mean I helped a lil bit -_-. There are also some coconut trees and some guys climbed and picked it up \(^o^)/ while some others went snorkeling.

Gili Meriam

We are done eating and cleaning around 3 pm, the wave already started to get bigger, it was all I worried about in my entire life, having boat ride in a big wave since I can’t swim and didn’t bring any life jacket -_-.

But then yea we continue our boat ride to the last stop, actually it should be Gili Lipan, but then because of the big waves we didn’t stop and continue to just go back, but then we passed Sentigi Island (been here twice before) and I thought we would just pass it by, but then some friends jumped in the water -_- and more and more friends joined, and almost everyone got off the boat, only me and some other friends stayed on the boat. But me personally kinda lost my mood thinking about the wave -_-.

Gili Lipan

So I just stayed on the boat taking some pictures. But actually Sentigi Island is not so far from the main land, it was just 20 minutes boat ride left, but big waves earlier made me pray a lot and those water splashed on me made me ‘aaarrgghhh aarrgghhh!!’ that some friends thought it was a happy scream -,-. We left the island around 5 pm.

That one day trip was really really fun tho. I can’t wait to go back there and explore another islands around, who knows i would find a new undiscovered island \\(^O^)//.
