Paserang Island - Sumbawa

Paserang Island is one of 7 small uninhabited islands around Tano District, West Sumbawa. Nowadays together with Kenawa Island it becomes more and more popular among travelers, both domestic or international.

From Sumbawa Besar it takes about 2 hours driving to Tano District or if you come from Lombok then take ferry for 2 hours and arrive at Tano Port then just walk about 0,7 km outside the port and there will be fisherman village where we can rent the boat to get to some small islands around.

Paserang is only like 30 minutes boatride away, even tho it’s not so far from Kenawa Island but the boat price is more expensive. Boat to Kenawa is Rp. 250.000/round trip boat (up to 12 people) while to Paserang is Rp. 400.000/round trip boat. Or you can do Rp. 500.000 for round trip boat to both islands (Kenawa & Paserang) in one day.

Couple years ago i went with 7 other friends and each of us paid Rp. 50.000 for round trip boat to Paserang Island and we left from Sumbawa at 7 am and arrived in Tano around 9 am. Luckily one of my friends knew a fisherman and already contacted him ealier so when we arrived there it didn’t take long time for us to get the boat. And again, as always, i was the only one wearing life-jacket. Actually almost all of us at that time could’t swim but i was the only one who officially confess that die in the water is something i’m scared of the most and that i always feel negative whenever i am on the boat -,-. So...safety 1st.

Actually right now an investor is making some kind of resort on Paserang which is still not finished yet since i went there couple years ago until now. I wonder tho, after it’s finished, is it still gonna be the same? Can we still go to the island without getting any complicated permission 1st, or is it still gonna be free to enter the island?. Well we’ll see..

So btw just like Kenawa, Paserang is also beautiful with its hill, soft white sands also clear and blue water. When we arrived on the island, we met some workers who allowed us to use one of the wooden houses to take a rest and had lunch. But the beach was just too tempting so no one really took a rest so after we had lunch or it was actually brunch, we immediately went swimming and of course taking ‘whatever pose you like’ pictures -,-. No other visitors at that time till few hours after, a group of seriously pretty girls came and went swimming with their sexy and classy bikinis. They somehow made us feeling intimidated, 1st cause we went swimming with complete clothes -,- and 2nd cause most of us couldn’t swim -,-. So we moved a lil bit further and they took our spot -,- I feel stupid whenever i think about it lololol -,-

The underwater as i remember even without underwater camera to take any pictures of it but i keep it in my head that it was just sooo beautiful, even when i was just ‘swimming’ in the shallow part, i was already surrounded by many kind of pretty fish. But there was a miracle happened when i was snorkeling -,- for the 1st time in my life i could swim for more than 10 seconds after i saw a snake in front of me, so i didn’t know how i did that but i turned around and went swimming back to the shore quickly -,-. But when i tried to swim again ater that, it didnt work -,-

After snorkeling, we went to climb the hill, it took only 5 minutes to get to the top and the view from there was so just so stunning. We could see the whole island and no matter how hot it was, we chilled for a bit with some workers who prolly was working on the stairs or something.

The other good thing was 2 couples in our travel group at that time are married now. One of those couples was not even dating at that time. But they already have cute babies now and i know it’s not necessary to tell but that trip was kinda a beginning of my 2 friends liking each other and ended up getting married. It’s amazing how travel can make you find your soulmate, i guess that’s why i still keep traveling. Maybe there will be some Anemon fish or Starfish wanna marry me -,-.

Well, back to the island topic! We stayed there till the afternoon and when we wanted to get back, we passed the pretty girls group and once they saw us, they asked us to take their pictures -,- lol. The waves were pretty big on the way back and even tho i had my life jacket i was still worried about who to help 1st if something bad happened so i spent the whole time praying on the boat :D

It’s been couple years and i always wanna go back there again but i still don’t do it i dont know why -,-. But pretty sure i will do it soon this year and maybe i should bring other friends. Who knows they will end up getting married too -,-.
