Backpacking Through Lombok Part IV – Villa Hantu Senggigi

This one is just a short story, unexpected trip, a bonus, and a last destination I went to during my trip exploring Lombok. Actually there were still some places on my schedule I really wanted to go to like Tiu Teja Waterfall & Gili Kondo, but both were canceled :(.

The day I planned to go to Tiu Teja was the same day with a special day in Lombok where people celebrate Lebaran Ketupat, the traffic was terrible and everyone was busy with the celebration so I had to cancel Tiu Teja this time, I was super sad about that :(. Gili Kondo should be my last destination but I’ve been to too many beaches for the last 5 days during the trip so I canceled that one too.

This Villa Hantu is actually a place I never heard about before. My friend told me about it when we were in Gili Air and he said we could stop to see this Villa Hantu on the way back from Gili Air to Mataram cause it has nice seaview. Since my other 2 destinations were canceled, going somewhere else would be great.

So this Villa Hantu is an abandoned villa, which was tooooo bad cause it has perfect location and it could be a very nice villa too. The building concept was nice, it has pool too. I don’t understand why they stopped to build it and I think local people just name it Villa Hantu. But it wasn’t scary at all, at least not in a day time. It has stairs to go upstairs and the view from there was just amazing.

Even tho it was so hot up there but it was worth it, if they sold the villa for $2 I would buy it right away -,-. That was exactly like I want in life, beach villa L. I don’t knw the story behind that villa but they should have not just abandoned it, it was too good L. Maybe it has something to do with permit or something, I don’t know but I was happy that we visited that place. It was a nice closure for my Lombok trip.

  1. Looks like a nice place to spend some time. I wonder if the village is haunted and that's why is abandoned... could be fun to explore it at night.
