Ai Beling Waterfall

Ai Beling Waterfall as people believe is one of the best waterfalls in Sumbawa Island. It is located in Semamung Village, Moyo Hulu District, Sumbawa. Ai means water and Beling means sound, so it means something like the sound of water :D

First time i went there was like 6 years ago with my coworkers, i kinda forgot about it for awhile until 3 years after that i went there again with other friends and so many times after that i went there with different friends or coworkers. I'm never bored of it, it's true. I mean how could you ever get bored of something so beautiful.

From Sumbawa Besar city it takes about 1 hour driving to Moyo District. When you arrive in Brang Rea Village, you will find the big river near the main road and about 300 m after the river on your right side you will find small mosque, then turn to the right. From there you will start driving on a pretty bad road. I fell few times there when we went by motorbike, it's holey and rocky. Besides the bad road, it's actually a good and peaceful scenery along the way, forest, rice field and river. After about 10 minutes driving you will find a small river then a lil bit after that, turn left and driving for 10 more minutes then you will find the entrance gate. The security post is not working anymore, no guards, no entrance fee, no signs, no everything but you can park your vehicles there. Right in front of the security post building there is a footpath, just follow it and after 10 minutes walking in the forest you will find the waterfall.

The waterfall consists of several levels that made you have many options to relax and enjoy the natural beauty surrounding it. On the top part of the waterfall, there are big rocks with many small natural ponds. Not big enough to sim you can pretend like you are in your private natural Jacuzzi. You also can climb down to see the waterfall from the bottom side and shower under the waterfall which i always do. But you gotta be careful cause it's pretty slippery everywhere, once my friend fell from the top of the waterfall because of it (he is okay now). 

Even tho i've been there few times but i never have seen many people visiting this waterfall (which is good). Most of the time, it was only me and my friends and in some other times, there were just some villagers who were there in a same time with us, but still less than 5 people. There is also public bathroom which is also not working, i don't know what happened but they should have cared about this place more. From the access to the facilities, it's still far from good. For those who are adventurous enough they prolly won't mind about it but it's gonna be better if they maintain it more.

And because it's pretty far from everywhere, don't forget to bring enough food and drinks and clean your trash after. Most of the time i was there, i just laid on my back and stared at the waterfall. And i'm pretty sure will be back there again with those who wants to enjoy the beauty of the waterfall with me \\(^o^)//.
