Keramat Island - Sumbawa

Whenever i think about Keramat island, i always imagine hammocking and swimming at the beautiful beach on the empty island, hand in hand walking along the shore with the beloved one, snorkeling and laying on its stunning white sands.  Luckily i always got it all whenever i go there unless that ‘hand in hand’ part -,-.

Keramat Island is one of many small uninhabited islands in the north part of Sumbawa. It is located in Labuan Pade Village, Utan District. Whether you come from Tano or from Sumbawa Besar, both takes about an hour to get to Utan District, from the main road on Utan intersection it takes another 15 minutes to Labuan Pade Beach. Labuan Pade itself is pretty popular spot for picnic, they have restaurant, music stage, banana boat, even tho the beach is not that nice....for me.

They also provide a boat to take us to the nearest islands around like Bedil, Keramat and Temudung Island. Bedil & Keramat are pretty popular and i’ve been to both of them many times while Temudung which is the furthest among all is not so popular yet and i never go there. Maybe that’s whay it’s not so popular yet, it’s waiting for me to make it popular huahahahahaha -,-. JK!

Boat price for round trip to one island is Rp. 250.000 that can bring about 10 people. It takes about 25 minutes boat ride to Keramat or Bedil. As i asked to the boatman before, boat price to Temudung is Rp. 400,000. Furthest and most expensive so i guess that’s why people don’t really go there. Or..that’s why i don’t go there yet -,-. But if you wanna go to both Bedil and Keramat, based on my experience we paid Rp. 350,000.

On Keramat, there is a small wooden house that visitors usually use for resting or just in case you wanna go camping but no tent. I’m not sure about the underwater tho, i never tried snorkeling there but the water is so clear and blue. Reminds me of Maldives even tho i’ve never been there -,-. And the fact that is uninhabited, makes me wanna claim it as my own island and name it PupuLand but i guess that’s impossible but i wish i could :(

And another best thing is that even tho Keramat is pretty popular, everytime i go there, there were never too many people, never even more than 5 people. So i could take whatever pictures and i am even amazed of my own pictures -,- difficult to even decide which ones i wanna use for this article \\(^o^)//.

One thing that i expect about the Island is even tho its uninhabited, i wish local government will build some kind of important facility like toilet or provide trash can. And i hope they repaired the dock cause last time i was there some parts of the dock are broken And also to promote it more since it could be a very potential tourist spot that we have to develop more. And that it was actually 3 things, not 1 -,-

And i’d love to go there again to do my postponed mission, that ‘hand in hand’ thing :D :D :D -,-
