Last
April 13th was Adventurous Sumbawa 2nd Anniversary, and we celebrated it by
going to Ai Manis Beach, one of the beaches in the south part of Moyo
Island. Ai means water and manis means sweet, but it's a lie, the
water is not sweet at all, it's salty! trust me! -,-
About
50 people participated in this trip, each person had to pay Rp. 40.000 (Rp.
35.000 for round trip boat & Rp. 5.000 for entrance fee) which is about US$
3. So everyone had to bring their own food/drinks/snacks, some people also
brought their own snorkel gear and life vest or they could rent it from the
villagers for Rp. 25.000 or US$ 1,8.
We
started to leave from our Meeting point (which luckily is near my house so i
could walk there) around 7.15 am and it took like 30 minutes driving to Ai
Bari, the fisherman village where we took the boat the island, and it was like
20 minutes boat ride to reach the island.
I’ve
been to Moyo Island like 3 times before but it was my 1st time going to Ai
Manis Beach. I joined the 1st boat and arrived in the island around 8.30 am and
Thank God no big waves. The water looks nice and many trees which is good cause
i brought 2 hammocks to set up there. I didn’t really walk around cause it was
toooo hot so i didn’t know about the other part but the part where we stopped,
there were no sands, it was just small corals and gravels so it hurt my feet
whenever i walked without sandals.
Then
i right away changed my clothes to go swimming (no bikini -,-) and took my life
vest and snorkel gear and went snorkeling with some friends. Since i had no
underwater camera so i couldn’t really take any underwater pictures, but i
brought my phone and cover it with waterproof case into water so it was not
really good quality of pictures (but i asked for better underwater pictures
from a friend). But it was actually very nice underwater view,,,so much better
than what i had in my pictures. Many nice corals and pretty fish but i didn’t
meet Sponge Bob or Patrick tho

From my phone -,-
After swimming i was pretty tired and hungry so i
ate and then set up my hammocks and laid down in it for like couple hours.
While most of people went trekking to the hill of the island and came back
couple hours later. But after they came back, some people (most of girls)
decided to go back to Sumbawa Besar, which i personally thought it was too
bad,,too early, they didn’t even go swimming. It was like they wanted to go in
a hurry till they even forgot their life vest and snorkel gear so we had to
take care of it -,-. Going somewhere just to take pictures without enjoying the
place is kinda hmmm useless.
Some other people went back to Sumbawa Besar
around 4 pm while some other remaining people (include me) chose to stay until
sunset. I went swimming and snorkeling again and tried to take some underwater
videos, i prolly will make a sort video of that trip soon\\(^o^)//. But it was pretty cloudy in the evening so the
sunset was not that hmmm nice, but it was still ok. And earlier some friends
went spearfishing and got some fish and squids, so we cooked it for our dinner.
It was awesome dinner.
