Tanjung Aan - Central Lombok

One of a must visit places in Lombok if i may suggest. Tanjung Aan is one of many beautiful beaches in a southeastern part of Lombok Island. About 8 km to the east from the famous Kuta Beach. Not as crowded as Kuta, which is good so it’s more relaxing to be at.

A good thing about beaches in Central Lombok is that it’s so close from one to another. So in one day you can visit so many nice beaches but the more eastern you go then the less facility and worse road you got.

 

 

I’ve been to Tanjung Aan few times during my visits to Lombok. It takes about 1,5 hours driving from Mataram to get to Tanjung Aan. To enter the beach we only have to pay for parking that i forget how much it was exactly but less than Rp. 5.000. There are beautiful hills along the beach where you can climb to see the amazing ocean view. The water is so clear and so blue that always makes me wanna jump into it but then i remember i can’t swim so i actually never get into the water. While most of foreign visitors, they go surfing and sunbathing there. The things that i would never do -_-, no surfing skill and too tan already to sunbathe.

 

If you are a budget traveler, try to avoid yourself from wanting to drink a coconut there cause it’s so freaking expensive, well,,,for me it is. But the things that i would never forget about everytime i go there is the kids or women who sell souvenirs. When you just stepped into the beach area you will be surrounded by women who sell traditional clothes or hand-made accesories. I still could say no to the women but the kids..it was so difficult to say no to them. But once you bought something from one kid then million other kids will come to you saying the same thing about they need money to eat or going back home. 

I know it’s their sale trick but still so difficult to reject them and makes me sad. But when i almost fall for all the kids then i remember that my wallet is as sad as i am so i have to be strong to say no to other kids.  They speak pretty good english tho, especially when they give you their endless compliments about how pretty you are if you wear the bracelets they sell -_-.

Some people prolly will find it annoying, i do feel that way sometimes but then i realize that people just try to earn money to live, just like i do. But i find it entertaining too whenever i talk to those kids, especially listening to the same things they always say whenever i go there -_-. 

But i also heard some people say that Lombok south beaches are sometimes dangerous. Still many beaches are pretty hidden and quiet so sometimes crimes occur. Thank God i never got any bad experiences but i hope they will fix the road tho. Some places are still difficult to access due to the horrible road. But well,,,once you get to the beach, it’s all worth it \\(^o^)//.
