Gili Trawangan

Among all Gilis in Lombok (Gili
means small island), these 3 Gilis (Trawangan, Meno & Air) are probably the
most famous ones. Located in a north part of Lombok Island, precisely in Gili
Indah Village, Pemenang District, North Lombok Regency.
Gili Meno is located in the
middle between Gili T and Gili Air. Among three Gilis, Gili Meno is the most
quiet one. It is also well-known as Honeymoon Gili. Ticket to Gili Meno is
about Rp. 15.000/one way for 25 minutes boat ride. While Gili Air is the
nearest one, about Rp. 12.000/one for 15 minutes boat ride. Gili Air is less
crowded than Gili T but more crowded than Gili Meno. Each Gili is beautiful and
worth visiting tho.

Luckily i have been to all Gilis.
I’ve been to Gili Air once, once to Gili Meno and twice to Gili T. Doesn’t mean
i like party or night life tho. The truth is Gili Meno is my favorite, not
because it’s well-known as honeymoon place, in fact i went there as a single
lady watching many sweet couples around -,-. But it’s so quiet and i didn’t see
lots of bodies laying at the beach. I met a little girl who ran to me when she
1st saw me, hugged me and followed me wherever i went. She is the daughter of a
lady who sells food near our hotel. We actually planned to go camping but we
didn’t find a good spot so we decided to rent 1 beach bungalow which costs us
Rp. 300.000/night where 4 girls sleeping inside while the other 8 guys set up
their tent in front of the Bungalow at the beach. I don’t think it was okay but
we did it anyway.

While twice going to Gili. T i
never really had a good time. I mean the island is nice, beaches are beautiful,
we still could find cheap accomodation but people i went with were urgh....Once
i went with some friends that didn’t end up well cause they fight and brought
up bad atmosphere to our trip and 2nd one going there with an ex-bf
and we fight too, i even forgot what was it about, not worth remembering tho
lol,,,,well that’s why sometimes it’s good to be a solo traveler. But being in
Gili.T made me feel like i was not even in Indonesia, i saw more foreigners
than locals. My favorite thing to do in Gili T or any other touristy place is i
like watching how the girls dressed up. I like looking at the pretty dresses
and imagining myself wearing those outfit lolol -_-.

And Gili Air, i went there 3
years ago and i feel like i didn’t really had enough time to enjoy. We only
spent a night and it was new year eve and pretty crowded and i couldn’t really
enjoy the beach cause it was cloudy and i didn’t walk around enough to know the
place, i didn’t even have many pictures L L L so i
kinda wanna go there again. Last time we stayed at my travelmate’s family’s
house. But after walking around in the evening and tried to go back to the
house, we didn’t it so decided to stay at Mosque. I even fell asleep before
midnite so i skipped the new year eve euphoria.

In all Gilis you won’t find any
motor vehicles, you can only find horse-cart,,,which is good but pretty
expensive, for someone like me L, Gilis
are not that big tho so we actually could just walk by foot or we can rent
bicycle, like Rp. 75.000/hour, another expensive thing for me L. The underwater is also wonderful, but oh wait i
never went snorkeling there but people said it is beautiful -_-. Those annoying
friends and ex bf i went with said it was beautiful.
In the end, i gotta say that many
nice beautiful places to visit in Lombok. But these 3 Gilis are one of the must
visit ones. Besides for enjoying the nice view and beautiful beaches, it is also
for showing off when you got a question like “have you been to............?”. And
you’ll be like ‘oh yeaaaa it was amazing’....well maybe it’s only me tho but
yeah these gilis are worth visiting.
